Session Details: This presentation will discuss the analyst’s role in protecting law enforcement search warrant operations. We will discuss where an analyst can start with gathering actionable intelligence that can be disseminated to law enforcement with the creation of target packets. We will cover the best practices and techniques for staying organized as gathering intelligence can be quite overwhelming with what to include and not to include. For example, maybe the subject’s Facebook page includes a car in a photo or the gym they frequent often. This can be great information to help detectives determine a location or possible vehicle. We will discuss how we can utilize some free open-source intelligence resources alongside free computer programs regardless of department budget constraints. Crime analysts can learn to showcase their capabilities in intelligence and apply their talents to play a vital role in aiding their agency not only in prevention but protecting their department through conducted search warrant operations. Lastly, we will discuss why supporting our department with these operations can increase our working relationships with our officers, detectives, and create a trusting bond. If we create impactful relationships with our department members, we can increase our collaboration efforts to help each other solve crimes!
